Before you charge in and try to install this package, you should take a walk through the documentation file ╥Remember? Manual (MacWrite)╙. I know it is pretty long but it gives a step-by-step installation guide which avoids common problems.
The documentation file is "MacWrite" format, as close to a universal standard on the Mac as you can find. Don't panic if you double click on the document and get the infamous "The file ╥Remember? Manual (MacWrite)╙ could not be opened (the application is busy or missing.)" Just open your word processor and use it╒s "Open" or "Import" file command to locate and open the file.
After opening the document, click anywhere in the text and check the "Font" menu. It should show that the text is in "Helvetica". If it does not, then select the entire document (Command-A on most programs) and select "Helvetica" from the "Font" menu. You may want to adjust the page breaks before printing since they can change (for some reason) between word processing programs. You can then print the document.
(NOTE to users of the old, original MacWrite under MultiFinder. Set the memory partition for MacWrite to at least 512k otherwise it will bomb with insufficient memory when opening the Manual. Change it using the "Get Info" command of the Finder.)
*** SPECIAL REMINDER TO USERS OF 32-Bit Quickdraw! ***
You must use version 1.2 or later to avoid very strange problems with the DA's menus. Version 1.1 MAY work, but I am SURE that version 1.2 of 32-Bit Quickdraw works fine.
Pass the package along to other folks, but please be very sure to pass along ALL files (and pass original files, not the copies you have in your system folder which may have been altered.) I would prefer that you pass along the original archive file.
Keep watching your local BBS or online service for updates to the package and occasion files with more events, birthdays and such.
